Mother Meg's Fine Foods
Established in 1992, Mother Meg’s Fine Foods is a boutique biscuit manufacturer based in Toowoomba. Founded on traditional values, Mother Meg's produces organic, hand-baked, biscuits, cakes and puddings.
Early in 2000, product sales had fallen dramatically due to inadequate packaging that was not effectively representing the product values. The brief to Lloyd Grey Design was to completely rebrand and reposition the company and its products.
We created a new range of packaging to reflect the nostalgic associations of traditional home-baked goodies. The design features original woodcut-style illustrations of kitchen utensils combined with interesting recipes and quirky etiquette statements from yesteryear. The packaging materials are uncoated, yet sophisticated, communicating a handmade,
high-quality feel with heritage values.
The packaging concept was adapted to add strong appeal to biscuit tins, cake boxes, pantry packs, festive packs and pudding bags and portion control packs.
Since the introduction of the Lloyd Grey designed packaging range, Mother Meg’s has gone from strength to strength, winning highly sought-after sales contracts with quality retailers in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia. Its product range continues to grow and now features more than sixty items including gluten free and festive ranges.
